Huge selection of exhaust add-on parts for replacement and self-built exhaust systems

A typical flue system has several connections to which the components of the system are attached. The parts required for secure attachment and a leak-proof seal vary depending on the component and connection method. Preventing exhaust leaks is of paramount importance. A leak upstream of the muffler  can create noise, and a leak anywhere in the system can allow toxic CO to enter the passenger compartment. CO is a harmful, colorless and odorless gas that can enter the passenger compartment undetected and, in high enough concentrations, can cause serious illness and even death.

Exhaust gaskets are generally made of stamped steel, multi-layer steel, graphite and copper. There are also composite gaskets with heat-resistant material that have a steel core. While exhaust gaskets must be used in conjunction with fasteners, exhaust clamps seal and secure the components.

Exhaust clamps are typically used to connect exhaust pipes to mufflers, Resonatoren, catalytic converters and in some cases to attach exhaust hangers. Exhaust clamps generally fall into two categories: Band clamps, sometimes called overlap clamps, and the traditional U-shaped exhaust clamps, also called saddle clamps. U-exhaust clamps are effective and usually less expensive, but because their clamping force is concentrated, this can make it more difficult to remove components in the future. Band clamps exert pressure over a larger area and cause less distortion of components. They are therefore a better choice when easy disassembly is desired.

Exhaust mounts support the exhaust system in its intended location and isolate the chassis from engine vibration. Most modern original-style exhaust bracket rubber is made of reinforced rubber with holes that slide over metal brackets welded to exhaust pipes and/or mufflers and attach to the chassis. Exhaust hanger rubber can crack and split due to age and exposure to heat and the elements. Defective hangers can cause the system to hang low where impact damage could occur, move excessively and contact other chassis components causing noise and vibration. We have a wide selection of vehicle specific and universal exhaust hanger rubbers. Vehicle specific hangers are the best choice for factory exhaust systems, universal hangers are ideal for custom systems or when vehicle specific hangers are not available.
