Factory exhaust systems are compromises, trading performance for the quiet vehicle operation that appeals to the “average driver”. But if you're reading this, you're a car enthusiast and far from average. You crave power and performance, and the sound that comes with that increased power is music to your ears. We know that power and sound are a total package when it comes to exhaust system performance. To ensure you get the performance you want with the right exhaust note, we offer the numerous performance exhaust systems you see on this page. To suppress combustion noise, car manufacturers use mufflers with baffles and perforated pipes that are set to minimize sound, which unfortunately causes excessive backpressure and exhaust flow and reduces performance. Exhaust pipes are often smaller in diameter, which further restricts exhaust flow. In contrast, a typical performance system has larger diameter pipes and mufflers that are designed to reduce backpressure and restriction, increasing exhaust flow and power and providing a deep exhaust sound that is usually still within legal limits. However, improving exhaust flow is much more complicated than bolting on waste pipe sized pipes and empty cans for silencers. The pipe diameter is increased, but not to the point where it negatively affects the exhaust velocity. And it's easy to create a loud exhaust, but it takes expertise to build mufflers that flow better to produce more horsepower while creating a powerful sound you can enjoy when you step on the gas - without irritating droning noises when you're cruising down the highway. All of our manufacturers develop these systems with sophisticated airflow and acoustic measurement equipment. This gives you pipe / silencer combinations that deliver the best possible performance with the best sound quality. Each system is also bench-tuned and tested in the real world to make sure it works and sounds right on your car or pickup SUV.

The silencer configuration varies depending on the manufacturer and application. Modern performance mufflers are complex components developed with specialized software. Generally, chambered mufflers have internal chambers that reflect and cancel sound waves without reducing exhaust flow. Turbo mufflers have multiple perforated tubes to reduce sound while reducing back pressure and straight mufflers have a perforated tube surrounded by sound absorption packing. All reputable manufacturers bend their exhaust pipes without creases to ensure smooth, low-flow exhaust bends. This means that the pipes retain their size, diameter and shape over their entire length. Pipes that are not bent without creases can lose a percentage of their diameter in sharp bends. This leads to a restriction of the exhaust gas flow. While we offer some universal systems such as Sidepipes and exhaust trims for custom-made products, most of the performance exhaust systems in our online store are vehicle-specific. These exhaust systems are specially designed for the respective application so that you can count on a perfect fit in addition to more power and an outstanding sound. In addition to complete systems for racing and street use, many of our most popular systems such as axle, ex catalytic converter and ex DPF filters are easy to install as they only replace part of the factory system. Ex cat systems and ex DPF filter systems are installed after the catalytic converter and diesel particulate filter, giving you excellent performance while keeping your vehicle 100% emission free. Many systems also offer the choice of exhaust outlets at the side or rear of the vehicle and some exhaust systems have two pipes exiting the muffler to give the appearance of dual exhaust. Some of our systems for V-engines have an H-pipe or an X-pipe. With these pipes the exhaust flow is increased as both banks of cylinders can now use both sides of the exhaust system, and increased exhaust flow means more power. Factory exhaust systems are compromises, trading performance for the quiet vehicle operation that appeals to the “average driver”. But if you're reading this, you're a car enthusiast and far from average. You crave power and performance, and the sound that comes with that increased power is music to your ears. We know that power and sound are a total package when it comes to exhaust system performance. To ensure you get the performance you want with the right exhaust note, we offer the numerous performance exhaust systems you see on this page. To suppress combustion noise, car manufacturers use mufflers with baffles and perforated pipes that are set to minimize sound, which unfortunately causes excessive backpressure and exhaust flow and reduces performance. Exhaust pipes are often smaller in diameter, which further restricts exhaust flow. In contrast, a typical performance system has larger diameter pipes and mufflers that are designed to reduce backpressure and restriction, increasing exhaust flow and power and providing a deep exhaust sound that is usually still within legal limits. However, improving exhaust flow is much more complicated than bolting on waste pipe sized pipes and empty cans for silencers. The pipe diameter is increased, but not to the point where it negatively affects the exhaust velocity. And it's easy to create a loud exhaust, but it takes expertise to build mufflers that flow better to produce more horsepower while creating a powerful sound you can enjoy when you step on the gas - without irritating droning noises when you're cruising down the highway. All of our manufacturers develop these systems with sophisticated airflow and acoustic measurement equipment. This gives you pipe / silencer combinations that deliver the best possible performance with the best sound quality. Each system is also bench-tuned and tested in the real world to make sure it works and sounds right on your car or pickup SUV.

The silencer configuration varies depending on the manufacturer and application. Modern performance mufflers are complex components developed with specialized software. Generally, chambered mufflers have internal chambers that reflect and cancel sound waves without reducing exhaust flow. Turbo mufflers have multiple perforated tubes to reduce sound while reducing back pressure and straight mufflers have a perforated tube surrounded by sound absorption packing. All reputable manufacturers bend their exhaust pipes without creases to ensure smooth, low-flow exhaust bends. This means that the pipes retain their size, diameter and shape over their entire length. Pipes that are not bent without creases can lose a percentage of their diameter in sharp bends. This leads to a restriction of the exhaust gas flow. While we offer some universal systems such as Sidepipes and exhaust trims for custom-made products, most of the performance exhaust systems in our online store are vehicle-specific. These exhaust systems are specially designed for the respective application so that you can count on a perfect fit in addition to more power and an outstanding sound. In addition to complete systems for racing and street use, many of our most popular systems such as axle, ex catalytic converter and ex DPF filters are easy to install as they only replace part of the factory system. Ex cat systems and ex DPF filter systems are installed after the catalytic converter and diesel particulate filter, giving you excellent performance while keeping your vehicle 100% emission free. Many systems also offer the choice of exhaust outlets at the side or rear of the vehicle and some exhaust systems have two pipes exiting the muffler to give the appearance of dual exhaust. Some of our systems for V-engines have an H-pipe or an X-pipe. With these pipes the exhaust flow is increased as both banks of cylinders can now use both sides of the exhaust system, and increased exhaust flow means more power.
